Scrap market remains buoyant in Japan

Current price of H2 scrap in the Kanto region has reached ￥64,000~￥64,500/ton on strong demand.

Some main steelmakers have increased the scrap purchasing price on May 29, as Kimitsu mill of Nippon steel has raised H1 scrap buying price by ￥1,000/ton to ￥69,000/ton.

A traders is confident that the market will remain buoyant as supplies tighten.
